ENVIRONMENTAL, FOOD AND COLLECTIVITIES HYGIENE

I. Activities for National Program no. 1 – Community Program for Public Health – subprogram 1.4 – The evaluation of the Health Status and Risk Factors


  1. The evaluation of nutrition status and food risk factors in collectivities in Timis County.

  2. Development of the analyzing methods using the equipment obtained by PHARE RO 2002/000-586.04.13 project, for the application of community aquis regarding drinking water and bathing water.

  3. The study of the relationship between the drinking water quality and cardiovascular disease in Timis County.

  4. Emergency interventions (natural disasters, accidental pollution, etc.): epidemiological inquiry, samples collecting, physico-chemical, microbiological and toxicological sample analysis; action in focus point.

  5. Technical and methodological guiding for the Public Health Authorities of Timis, Arad, Hunedoara and Caras-Severin Counties.

  6. Practical training to Hygiene residents.

  7. Assuring the Quality Implementation System and credential obtaining for the laboratories of the Department “Environmental, Food and Collectivities Hygiene”.

  8. National synthesis regarding “food supplements inspection”.

  9. Monitoring physical development for children and teenagers; Monitoring health status for children and teenagers; Impact evaluation of risk factors on children and teenager’s health through medical survey, continuous examination and epidemiological trials.

  • Evaluation of environmental status in teaching facilities; environmental status investigation for the releasing sanitary evaluation; supervising hygienic-sanitary conditions in camps and colonies. Monitoring health risk comportments: smoking, alcohol and drugs abuse, alimentary risk behavior, aggressive and self-aggressive comportment, sedentary behavior, sexually risk behavior in teaching and recreation facilities. Children’s health monitoring related to urban air pollution.


II. Notifying and evaluation report activities

  • Notifying committee of evaluation files regarding implementing fundamental hygiene knowledge.

  • Notifying committee of food supplements and bottled drinking water.

  • Committee for procedure of registration approval of the Ministry of Health for the laboratories that are providing the drinking water quality monitoring as part of the official drinking water survey.


III. Activities within the framework of ”Excellence Research” projects (CEEX)

  • subcontract to the projects:

        • Synergic bioactivity of antioxidant functional nutrients study in metabolic syndrome reversibility (MET-ANTIOX)

        • Promoting innovator and lasting technologies for the treatment of drinking water (PRO-AQUA).

IV. Other activities

  • Makes analysis for different class of foods and drinking water based on firm contracts, and also at the application of different commercial companies and private person.

  • Monitoring hygienically conditions and HACCP systems based on contract the of commercial companies.

  • Health certificates for food products.

  • Consulting and risk assessment studies of the environmental risk factors and the impact on the population health status.
